Millrise Fire Donation - Calgary Photographer

Recently there was a huge fire in Calgary where hundreds lost everything! After it happened another local photographer took it upon herself to give back to a community that was devastated. Anna Michalska posted an event on Facebook and on her Blog letting people know that she was donating a few photo sessions to a couple of families that lost everything in the fire. Her offer and the loss of these people touched me and made me realize how horrible it would be to lose every picture I had of memories past. My wedding photos, the births of all three of my children, even that one of me winking when I was only 5… they all make me smile and remember a special time, happy or otherwise. What would it be like to only have those as memories and nothing to really look back at?

That said I too would like to give back and help a couple families start their collection of memories over again. I will donate a Portrait sessions to two of the families from the Millrise fire tragedy.

If you or someone you know were a resident in one of the effected condos please phone or Email me their story and I will randomly choose two “Winners” for the sessions.
Please let everyone know about this so that someone from the Millrise complex can get in touch with me.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Fletcher Twins - Calgary Photographer

Meet the twins! Riley and Madison were born on February 5th and were 7lbs 1oz, and 5lbs 6oz respectively.

Back on February 17th 2007 I shot Tim and Sara's wedding. It was one of my first, and I had a great time doing it. So when I had the opportunity to photograph their new twins, I couldn't pass it up, as it was my first opportunity to shoot two babies at once!
A few small quirks that you have to expect when taking photos of little ones happened, like feeding them a few hours too soon and a small potty accident on a prop, but all in all they were very well behaved and even had a good nap right at the end of the shoot. That nap allowed a couple other great opportunities to unfold.

I would like to thank you guys for letting me invade and slightly re-arrange your home, it was a pleasure.

And now its the moment you all have been waiting for...here is the teaser for your enjoyment! (Although I am sure you all skipped past any of the writing and went straight into the goods!)

Cheers, thanks for looking. Feel free to leave a comment below!

The MacDougall's - Calgary Family Photographer

What can I say about the MacDougall's? We've known each other for quite some time now and we've been building memeories since we were all new parents.
Geoff is one of the greatest friends anyone could ever have, the drop-what-he's-doing-and-be-there-in-a-heartbeat-to-give-you-the-shirt-off-his-back kinda guy.
Mendy's love for our children is second only to our own and she is the Godmother of our newest son Cameron. Having the opportunity to capture their family was an honour and a blast. Thanks guys I had a great time and I look forward to more memories being made!

Thanks for looking. If anything sparked a comment, don' forget to leave it below. I would love to hear some feedback. Any strobist info available upon request.
Cheers!

D.O.C. Personal Training - Calgary and Area Photographer

The other day while I was taking my daughter to Tanya's Dance Worx when a few of my neighbours were talking about a new Personal Training center in Langdon. Very curious as to what they were talking about, I asked what and where it was. I found out that I can see the building from my kitchen window. Although I thought it was just going to be an over sized garage it turns out that it has been created to be a brand new state of the art training facility. I gave Corrie, the owner/operator, my business card and said if he needed any photographs I would be glad to do work for him. Pretty much the next day he called and we worked it out so I could do the shoot before my Olympic trip last week. We had a blast during the shoot and even worked his mother-in -law and sister-in-law into a bit of a sweat on the treadmill for a while! (Sorry about that.)

The future of fitness is here! With up to date fitness equipment including iPod connectors, touch screen cardio equipment, and big screen TV's with Satellite, and a brand new sound system, everything you need is right at your finger tips.

D.O.C. (Dedicated Optimistic Caring) brings everything that the other fitness facilities don't have and offers up the other side of fitness. With one on one training, weight machines, free weights, stability balls, and balance tools its all here at D.O.C. Personal Training.
If you're looking to change your life style, lose your extra weight or just keep that beautiful shape, then look no farther than our home town of Langdon and Corrie Carrobourg at D.O.C.

TwoPhotog's meeting- Calgary Photographers

What a time I had last night at Melrose on 17th for the TwoPhotogs meeting. A big thanks to Brandy and Dana for putting it together. It was a great way to meet other local photographers and gain so much knowledge about business and just have a good time.
Makes for a early Tuesday morning when your out all night Monday, but well worth my time.
I know I got a lot out of meeting everyone what about you? Put some of your favorite thing in the comments below!

My favorite thing that i heard: "you have to do one of three things: be the first to do something, be the best at it, or do something completely different..." and a close second is "I shoot weddings ..and porn.." (thanks for the laughs Rene.)

Thanks to everyone for being so friendly and honest. I had a great time getting to know you.

To those I didn't get a chance to meet, keep in touch on Facebook and we'll chat next time.

Cheers.
